PV-GRAF –

Solar collector mit graphene technology

Solar panels with graphene technology generate up to 25 % more electricity compared to conventional solar panels with the same peak power.

Up to date, solar cells have mostly been made of silicon or gallium-arsenic compounds and achieve an electricity yield of up to 22% from incident light.

Solar panels contain a graphene layer the thickness of an atom and can currently convert up to 33% of incident light into electricity – more than any other material known today. Graphene absorbs not only light in the visible spectrum, but also ultraviolet and infrared light. In addition, graphene can release not just one electron per absorbed photon, but several. In addition, there are hardly any losses caused by scattered radiation. In practice, this means an additional electricity of up to 25% compared to conventional solar panels with the same peak power.

Graphene is a cutting-edge nano-substance made from pure carbon; its atoms are arranged in a regular hexagonal lattice and are currently the thinnest and strongest known material in the world. Therefore it belongs to the two-dimensional materials. This structure is also called a honeycomb structure. A one-atom layer of graphene is approximately 200 times stronger than steel, its density is the same as carbon fiber, it is approximately 5 times lighter than aluminum and also has exceptional conductivity and durability.

PV-Graf is the world’s first solar panel with a patented graphene layer from the US photovoltaic group FreeVolt. The company was founded in 2005 and now has more than 100 branches in over 12 countries. In Germany, FreeVolt products are sold exclusively to resellers through our company.

Up to 40% more power

Solarmodule mit Graphen-Technologie erzeugen bis zu 40 % mehr Strom im Vergleich zu herkömmlichen Solarmodulen mit gleicher Peakleistung.

  • Peak power or peak power refers to the maximum electrical power (see also nominal power) of a solar system with optimal solar radiation. This value is usually given in kilowatt peak (kWp) and makes the electrical performance of modules and systems comparable.
